Texts & Textiles on show at the Ian Potter Museum of Art, University of Melbourne, from Saturday 17 October until 18 April 2010 displays rare Greek papyrus texts and Coptic textiles from Egypt, forming the basis of a dramatic exhibition that gives a fascinating insight into ancient lifestyles.

SATELLITE APT3 2010

SATELLITE APT is a group exhibition that brings together 6 artists from across the Asia Pacific region. Many of these artists have participated in past Asia Pacific Triennials, such as Dadang Christano (1993, 1999), Heri Dono (1993) and collaborative duo Alfredo & Isabel Aquilizan, (1999, 2009). With the launch of SATELLITE APT, Jan Manton Art introduces two new artists to the gallery, Shin Koyama and Ken Yonetani.

 The opening event for  SATELLITE APT is Saturday 5th December at 3pm.

STUDIO SALE

On December 5th ceramisict Shannon Garson's Maleny studio will be opening for a month. This is the first opening of the beautiful studio where Garson has been developing a range of work based on the Queensland Firewheel Tree that will make its debut. There will be also be lots of work from the "Paddock", "Fennel" , "Magnolia" and "Forest Fungi" series.

STONELEIGH LOUNGE

The alfresco wine lounge will be temporarily stationed down in the idyllic location that is The Rocks, and open to punters from this Wednesday 20 January to Friday 22 January 2010.
 
The bar will be open from 1:00pm to 9.30pm on Wednesday, 1.00pm -4.00pm on Thursday and 1.00pm to 9.30pm on, with other live music performances and DJ’s featuring throughout the lounge’s short stay at Dawes Point.


SCULPTURE 2010

Global Gallery is launching its 2010 exhibition program with SCULPTURE 2010.  A group show of 17 artists.
 
This has always been one of our post popular shows of the year and features sculpture in its many splendid forms - from clay to bronze and glass to plastic.
 
Exhibition Opens  Thursday 21st of January 6-8 pm
 
An afternoon of drinks with the artists will also be held on  Saturday 13th February 2-4pm.
 
 Exhibition Closes  Sunday 13th of February
