Evie Group at Sydney Indesign

For their debut appearance at SID, the Sydney design duo have announced an exciting collaboration with kikki.K and will be launching beautiful new products.

Determined to make a memorable first impression, product design studio Evie Group is teaming up with kikki.K to create an installation at SID’s Galleria space. Working with this year’s The Project theme of ‘Process’, the inspiration behind the stand’s concept is to tell a story and provide an insight into the designer’s mind. The key idea is “2D to 3D: From paper to product” and aims to reflect the simplicity of Scandinavian design and Evie Group’s aesthetic, in a striking yet elegant installation.

Without giving too much away, the concept is of a geometric pattern wall installation, inspired by paper sketch models and rapid prototypes. This will transition from a flat paper surface into a moulded 3D form that creates a wave across the wall’s surface.  Kikki-K products including sketch journals, models and prototypes will populate the display, giving an insight to the creative process.

Evie Group will also present a range of new products at the event; the ‘Oliver’ tray tables and planters inspired by traditional butler tray tables and the ‘Moo’ stool and coat rack (by Kenan Wang, the first ‘Evie Presents’ designer), inspired by traditional Chinese furniture.

The duo will also be showcasing their latest small accessories, the Hex Boxes: handmade bamboo boxes with lids in a variety of colours and mirror finishes.

And for the twitter-book-grammers among us, Evie Group will be holding a social media photo competition! Snap a creative photo of their stand or any of the products over the course of SID, tag #eviegroup and #sydneyindesign and upload to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to go in the draw to win a large Spun floor lamp valued at $995 and coloured set of our newly released Hex Boxes valued at $150. Details and conditions of entry will be available at the stand and on the Evie Group website.
