Alice lives in Fitzroy, Melbourne, surrounded by grungy backstreets
painted with fresh graffiti everyday and trendy people in black skinny-leg jeans and Ray Bans. ”I only own the black jeans,” she laments.

Alice is passionate about supporting emerging Australian designers and loves her Peg Leg coffee table by young Australian designer, Tomek Archer.

She is most moved by great minds and creative young talent who use their work to address the social issues of the day. Janice lives in Singapore with her husband, Roy, and their trusty Cairn Terrier, Sparky.

When she’s not working, Janice can be seen pounding on the piano or poring through her favourite design magazines for fresh inspiration.

She has practised architecture extensively in Singapore where she came in contact with architects BEDMaR & SHi, who designed the Cove Way House.

Darlene is also the author of an architectural monograph of BEDMaR & SHi, titled 5 in Five, profiling five houses in five countries.

Andrea is currently developing her expertise in screen print and textile design and is also keeping a firm grip on the job of raising her two little girls.

She lives in a rooftop apartment in Northbridge, Perth, with a geologist and a cacophony of books, artworks and random objects collected over the years. But most of all, she says she loves “The light. I suspect I am solar-powered.”

She is interested in the relationship between client and architect, and also has an interest in black and white photography and has contributed her work to a number of publications.

Alicia Sciberras is currently the Assistant Editor of Indesign magazine. 

For the past two years Alicia has contributed to the content of Habitus magazine and online, her passion lies in styling and writing, you can see her work in the ‘lightbox’ section of issue 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19. 

Alicia lives in Newtown, Sydney which she loves for the community feel and the surrounding neighbourhoods of Redfern and Marrickville. 

Alicia is an avid supporter of the emerging arts and design scene and her favourite up-and-coming Sydney based artists at the moment include David Capra, Mitchell Cummings and Sydney Guild. 

Ben has been about design, architecture and creativity for 5 years now. When not writing, Ben is building websites or getting passionate about politics, design and culture (often all at once). 

Ben cherishes his Ross Gardam ‘Packaged Glow’ desk lamp (one of only a handful in existence), and hopes one day to buy himself a chair by an Aussie designer. As much as he admire the classics, Ben values the experience of buying products from someone that he has met, knows and likes.

Elana Castle is a South African architect, writer and photographer based in Sydney. Her design journalism and photographic images are regularly featured across a range of local and global publications. Inspired by her love of big cities and the great outdoors, Elana is also an incurable traveller, constantly on the lookout for emerging trends and new travel destinations. 

She is also a little addicted to sharing her discoveries on her blog How I See It.

Belinda Aucott is a journalist and media consultant with over 10 years of experience. During her career she has worked in Sydney; London; Paris and Milan writing for publications including Fashion Wire Daily; GQ; Oyster; Men’s Style; Penthouse; Australian Creative; Indesign; Design Quarterly and Design Taxi.

Belinda also has extensive experience in digital and social media spheres having held the position of Online Editor for Habitusliving, FHM, and at Yahoo for Marie Claire and Home Beautiful.

Wynn practiced architecture professionally in Christchurch and London, with a wide band of experience spanning from education block to prison block, and hospitality projects.

He is currently based in Bangkok, taking up the challenge as program director lecturing in interior design and sustainable design. He is contributing his design hunt in order to satisfy on his own big appetite for design.

Linda Cheng is a word nerd with a particular fondness for anagrams, acronyms and alliteration. She is former editorial assistant of Habitus Magazine (issues 9-15). By day Linda is a freelance writer of architecture and design. By night, she can be found at the stove, attempting to cook her way around the world with at least one dish from every country. Linda is looking forward to being old and having the free time to bake cupcakes, grow tomatoes, crochet and write angry letters to the editor on the sorry state of contemporary politics.

Stephanie Madison is a former newspaper feature writer and Brisbane-Queensland correspondent for Indesignlive turned freelancer-consultant. A regular contributor to Design Quarterly, Habitusliving and Indesignlive since 2009, she has 12 years combined journalism, marketing and public relations experience and moonlights as an occasional creative.

Lieu is a freelance Melbourne journalist with nine years experience working in print publishing, online media and film. 

After completing her masters in media and communications in 2004, she spent two years working in London at media behemoth Associated Newspapers before returning home, writing for publications in Australia, America, and the United Kingdom.

She is interested in the intersections, mutations and collaborations across design, culture, architecture, food, technology and innovation.

Lieu has been published in SOMA, Dazed and Confused, TimeOut Melbourne, LittleWhiteLies, Cream , FashionTrend, Indesignlive.com, Design Quarterly, Inside (Interior Design Review), Broadsheet, TheAge, and Habitus Living. 

She is currently the Melbourne-Australian business foreign correspondent for America’s CBS Interactive. 

Nicky Lobo is Deputy Editor of Habitus magazine. She has worked on the magazine since it’s launch and loves the continual crafting of its direction and the content in each issue. 

Nicky resides in Randwick, but also enjoys travelling, which is one way she becomes inspired (and familiar with the cuisine of each destination). 

Nicky’s other hobbies include amateur dancing (hip hop, disco, rockabilly, tap etc.), yoga, reading and mucking about.
