Introducing the Life Outside issue of Habitus magazine. With life increasingly being absorbed into a digital space, there is never a more important moment to hold something tangible. In this context, the power of nature to have a physiological impact on our sense of wellbeing has never been more important. So how can we cultivate the benefits of the our natural environment in the most intimate of places – our homes? This was the question that helped to bring this issue of Habitus to life.

Your name: Imogen Tunnicliffe

What you do: I am the Senior Designer at Citta Design in Auckland, New Zealand.

Your latest project: We have just finished the collection for summer 2013, GreeceUnder the Sun, and we are laying the foundations for our winter 2014 collection where we are off to Copenhagen.

 Who are three people that inspire/excite you:

     1) Frank Lloyd Wright, architect
     2) Quentin Blake, Illustrator 
     3) Alexander Girard, textile designer, architect

What is your favourite…

Car/bike/plane/boat model: 1990–1991 BMW 318i 2-door coupe, red

Chair model: Japanese folding chair designed by Suekichi Uchida, 1970s

Residential space: Frank Lloyd Wrights ‘Falling Water’ house

Commercial space: Battersea Power Station

Decorative product: Alexander Girard Painted wooden dolls

Functional product: Chemex coffee pot

Handmade good: fudge!

Mass-produced good: the humble pencil

Meal: Noodle Salad ‘A’, from Mekong Vietnamese in the Ponsonby Food court, Auckland!

Item in your studio: Moleskine Cahier plain sketch-book

Historical figure: Thomas Cromwell (well, at the moment anyway…I’m reading a book about him…)

Virtue: Compassion
