Clipsal C-Bus® eDLT™ wins a Design Award

Good Design Australia recently awarded the Clipsal C-Bus eDLT wall switch a highly acclaimed “Design Award” as part of the Australian International Design Awards in the category of Hardware and Building.

The Design Award recognizes products or services that exceed the five criteria for good design and meet the criterion for design excellence: Innovation

Geoff Timbs, Sales Director – Partner Business said “it’s an absolute honor to receive this award on behalf of all the engineers, product management team, marketing and sales people who believed that we could make the best even better.

“The eDLT reflects Schneider Electric’s commitment to the Clipsal brand and its product range, and reinforces our commitment to continuously develop and manufacture quality and innovative products to the market”.

The Clipsal C-Bus eDLT wall switch was launched in February 2013, via a live web stream from Adelaide to the Global market. The product was wholly designed and engineered by Schneider Electric’s global design and engineering team in Adelaide.

Chris Morris, Offer Manager says “We conducted extensive field trials and focus groups and presented a variety of models and watched people interact with the product”.

“Our aim was to produce a product that had to be intuitive for the general person to use. The features and functionality had to be inline with what consumers expect it to do, and it had to look like other modern consumer electronic products but still boast the classic features of the Saturn range.”

“Clipsal is synonymous with innovation – so this product had to push the boundaries of the control systems market – and I feel we have definitely achieved that”, Chris went on to say.

The eDLT (enhanced dynamic labelling technology) switch builds on the success of the DLTTM switch, by enhancing it to a whole new level.  Providing more colours, more control and more functionality, the eDLT offers a huge range of installer and user benefits and innovative design features, enabling it to display C-Bus system information, which was previously only achievable with touch screens.

An extensive selection of customisable colour screen options and premium fascias allows you to customize the eDLT to suit your home and décor. Providing  complete control of your C-Bus system, Clipsal’s eDLT is one of Australia’s most advanced wall switches.

Other features include tri-colour LEDs, high resolution colour screen, dual action buttons, proximity sensing, field upgradeable firmware and a magnetic wall attachment. Complemented by an extensive choice of customisable colour screen options and premium fascias, ensures the eDLT can be customized to suit any building and décor. Suitable for residential and commercial installations, it’s available in Saturn and Neo ranges, with a black or white grid-plate.
