The Habitus House of the Year Quarter
September – November 2019
For more than a decade Habitus has been celebrating the lives and work of architects and highly informed design consumers – people who live through design- through our various channels. In the second year of the Habitus House of the Year initiative, once again the hand-curated selection of 25 outstanding examples of residential architecture within the Region are announced in the September issue.
The Life Outdoors Quarter
December 2019 – February 2020
There are many ways in which our Region – Australia, New Zealand and the Indo Pacific – are similar. A shared connection to the outdoors is perhaps the strongest. This issue we explore architecture and design that holistically incorporates, highlights and enhances the natural and surrounding environment in its design theory.
The Design Culture Quarter
March – May 2020
How is design throughout the Indo Pacific Region cultivated from our unique habits and patterns of behaviour? And interestingly, how do our changing needs and preferences influence emerging architecture and design? This quarter we look forwards and backwards at design that has shaped the way we live; designers that have reworked traditional pieces for the modern consumers, and architects making slight adjustments optimising existing architecture.
The Kitchen and Bathroom Quarter
June – August 2020
Each year our annual Kitchen & Bathroom quarter proves to be a highly anticipated timestamp of the design innovations, tech advances, aesthetic predilections and in-real-life trends emerging in arguably the two most crucial rooms in residential design. Last year we were blown away by a Regional shift towards biophilic design in the bathroom and connecting the indoors to out – despite varying climates – while the year before we reported on emerging technologies and seamless integration. What will 2020 have to offer?
