Unique by Eggersmann. FENIX Core

Eggersmann-Fennix-Core-08
  • Description
  • FENIX core is a solid surface material, produced using a multilayer coating process of next-generation acrylic resins. With low light reflectivity, the FENIX surface is extremely matte, soft touch and anti-fingerprint.

FENIX products are made of paper (over 60%) and thermosetting resins (30 – 40%). The FENIX products are created by a pressing process in which heat and pressure are applied simultaneously in order to obtain a homogeneous non-porous product.

The core structure is composed of paper, impregnated with thermosetting resins. The outer surface is treated with next generation acrylic resins, which are hardened and fixed through an Electron Beam Curing process.
Thanks to the process of Electron Beam Curing, the surface of the material is scattered with a dense grid of cross polymers, each with their own memory. In the event of small scratches disturbing this memory, it can be reactivated with the use of heat, helping the surface to re-acquire its original appearance.

If members of your household are allergy prone, FENIX core is an excellent solution. It’s anti-bacterial and mould resistant properties make it suitable for contact with food. It’s also resistant to rub, scratches and abrasion, as well as to acid solvents and household cleaning agents.

FENIX core is also heat-proof up to 150° C, making it an ideal durable surface for kitchen benchtop applications, as well as bathroom vanities.

When applied to Eggersmann’s UNIQUE range, we consider the same fundamentals where all surfaces are homogenous, producing entire island compositions in FENIX core – not only benchtops!
