Vintage Modern Issue

The breadth and scope of Habitus has always been extraordinary. With how we live at heart of every issue, we have stepped it up with Guest Editor David Flack of Flack Studio shaking the ‘how’ and looking at new ways to make a house a home. With Vintage Modern as the issues theme, we look at the way iconic design has stayed with us, how daring pieces from the past can add the wow factor and how architecture and good design defy the pigeon hole of their era.

Duo

Audi and Renovo have come together to create a rideable work of art.

Audi describes ‘duo’, its recent collaboration with Portland, Oregon-based bicycle manufacturer Renovo, as ‘a hand-made work of art that you can ride every day’.

This is certainly a bike to be seen on, with its smooth lines, retro style and luxurious appearance. We can’t resist the old-worldliness of the design – seems like an honest bike to ride.

The love and care put into its design and manufacture is evident in every curve of duo’s handcrafted hardwood frame. According to its makers the Duo was built to combine elegance and luxury with performance and durability, so it’s more than just a showpiece.

Behind every model is a long process of testing and engineering, creating a bike that is at once beautiful, strong and lightweight – perfect for exploring the streets and seeing the city up close.
