Kitchen & Bathroom Issue

Kitchens and bathrooms are, arguably, the most consequential rooms in the home — and almost always the first to be considered. Whether approached through renovation or new build, their design has the power to recalibrate how a home is lived in and experienced. For this issue, our guest editor, Mardi Doherty, principal of Studio Doherty, explores what it truly means to transform these pivotal spaces — and why thoughtful design in kitchens and bathrooms delivers dividends far beyond the purely functional. Her insights both as an architect and as her own client give an open and honest account of the thinking behind creating a home.

Dusk til Dawn

The beautiful Dusk Til Dawn rug collection from Cadry’s is without doubt one of our favourites.

I am: Hand-woven rug collection

About me:

Dusk til Dawn is a collection woven entirely of Tibetan Highland Wool. The flow of colour running tonally through these rugs honours any living space.

The amount of warmth and calm that these rugs evoke on a floor is breathtaking. Each strand of wool has been painstakingly dipped in vegetable dye to create this subtle effect.

We love the evocation of scenes from nature created by the gradual change in tones – like the heat radiating from sand dunes or a body of water reflecting the night sky.
