Kitchen & Bathroom Issue

Habitus 63 is arguably the most aspirational issue of the year with Kitchens & Bathrooms to dream about. Whether a family hub, an entertainer’s paradise or somewhere to grad a quick meal, how we live in and spend time in the kitchen is a very personal question that requires thought and an abundance of resources. Always the aspirational eye candy of design, we have some truly lovely kitchens from Greg Natale, YSG, Splinter Society, Sally Caroline and Studio Johnston. Bathrooms are just as important with Greg Natale, Studio Tate, YSG and Those Architects sharing some fabulous insights

Established & Sons returned to Milan Design Week 2025 to mark its 20th anniversary with a renewed focus on creative experimentation and material innovation.

Established & Sons, the London-based brand known for fusing heritage and contemporary design, presented two standout products in Milan this year: Gelato, a newly developed archival lamp by Italian designer Carlo Nason, and an updated version of Tiki, a table lamp by Japanese designer Nao Tamura, celebrating its tenth anniversary.

The brand’s presence in Milan included a dedicated exhibition at Urban Hive Hotel in Brera, as well as a curated series of satellite displays in selected cafés, restaurants and concept stores across the city. This broader initiative was documented in The Established & Sons Guide to Milan: How to Make It Through Design Week, which highlighted locations that reflect the brand’s design values.

Gelato draws from a 1960s design by Nason, reimagined with modern functionality. Its Murano glass base, shaped like a dessert cup, cradles a dimmable opaline glass sphere that functions as a portable lamp. The sphere can be rotated to adjust brightness and access the magnetic charging point, and it detaches from its base to glow independently. The updated version comes in four contemporary colours: Mint, Azure, Smoke and Spritz.

Tiki, originally released in 2015, has been relaunched in a fully portable version. Maintaining its original silhouette – reminiscent of a perched bird – it now features a rechargeable LED system and an intuitive dimming function. With new finishes including matte warm white, olive green and blue, alongside its original gloss black, the lamp retains its playful and interactive character while offering improved usability and durability.

Established & Sons has a history of reviving overlooked or archival designs, such as the 2018 reissue of Mauro Pasquinelli’s 1976 chair. The brand’s Milan presentation underscored its dedication to combining craftsmanship with contemporary relevance, expanding its reach while preserving the distinct character that has defined it over the past two decades. Through Gelato and Tiki, they continue to deliver emotionally resonant, technically advanced design suited to modern living.
