Kitchen & Bathroom Issue

Habitus 63 is arguably the most aspirational issue of the year with Kitchens & Bathrooms to dream about. Whether a family hub, an entertainer’s paradise or somewhere to grad a quick meal, how we live in and spend time in the kitchen is a very personal question that requires thought and an abundance of resources. Always the aspirational eye candy of design, we have some truly lovely kitchens from Greg Natale, YSG, Splinter Society, Sally Caroline and Studio Johnston. Bathrooms are just as important with Greg Natale, Studio Tate, YSG and Those Architects sharing some fabulous insights

Fritz Hansen Releases Updated 60-Year Old Classics

For a trio of furniture classics, Fritz Hansen has released a 60th anniversary collection. The Egg, Swan and Drop chairs are back in new finishes, better than ever.

In 1958, Fritz Hansen released the Egg, Swan and the Drop range of seating for the SAS Royal Hotel. Immediate designer favourites, the three have been in the hearts of discerning collectors ever since – and for the trio’s 60th anniversary, thanks to Cult, you can own these classics in all new, world class finishes.

Relaunched in pure respect for Arne Jacobsen’s original designs, it was the serenity of nature that served as the starting point for the 60th anniversary relaunch finishes. The materials vary from the soft and serene Pure leather, the rich and smooth Sera wool fabric, to a 23 karat gold coated base. The result is a collection that looks stunning on first launch, and will gain further beauty through natural aging over time.

Pure Leather

The anniversary Egg and Swan chairs have been upholstered in premium Pure leather, remarkable for its soft touch and comforting appearance that will only grow more beautiful with time.

The natural marks of age, from soft scars, tiny insect bites and daily use of the leather imbue it with a beauty suitable of its design. Because it was never dyed, Pure leather will naturally darken over time, creating an ongoing relationship between object and user.

Sera Fabric

For the anniversary release of the Drop chair, Fritz Hansen has upholstered the icon in the hardwearing, structured fabric of Sera, from Rohi. The brown-grey Taupe Sera colour is not only a comforting and designer-home-friendly aesthetic, it’s an exceptionally durable and highly resistant textile. A wool blend with a grainy feel and organic look, the textile is yarn dyed for a deep and immersive colour.

23-Karat Gold

The impressive 23-karat gold plating on the aluminium bases of all three chairs add an undeniable element of luxury without overpowering their naturally comforting aesthetics. Like the leather of the Egg and Swan, this carefully selected base will ever o slightly evolve and change in colour as it ages.

The 60th anniversary collection is a limited edition: the Egg and Swan chairs are available in a limited number up to 1958 pieces each – saluting the SAS Royal Hotel Fritz Hansen originally created the ranges for in 1958. The Drop chair will be available to order until December 31st 2018.

The full collection is available now from Cult showrooms in Australia and New Zealand.
