If you have some last minute questions about Sydney Indesign 2015 here is a handy list of frequently asked questions to make sure you are in the know.

Who can attend?

Indesign: The Event is a boutique design experience primarily serving:

Architects

Developers

Design Hunters

Industrial Designers

Interior Designers

Manufacturers

Product Suppliers

Specifiers

It brings together members of the architecture, building, construction and design industries in a creative format that’s immersive and interactive, social and fun. You can bring friends or family, you can meet some of the most ambitious, creative design minds, you can reconnect with the local design community as well as international guests, and you can get to know world-leading brand cultures. It’s a social design experience.

All design lovers are welcome.

Where is the event?

Sydney Indesign does not have one main location. It works by uniting showrooms and pop-up spaces across the city, connected by design trails and our own free Indesign shuttle buses, running regularly all day. The venues fall within four key design precincts: Alexandria, Chippendale, Redfern/Waterloo and Surry Hills. You can start your day anywhere. See the timed events schedule and event map closer to the date.

How does the event work?

Sydney Indesign involves a coming together of boutique international and regional commercial design houses and leading creative figures from the architecture and design industry. Showrooms and pop-up spaces around the city are transformed by conceptual installations (part of our ongoing collaboration series The Project), as well as hosting topical industry seminars, international guests, workshops, demonstrations and entertainment. Venues are connected by design trails and our own free Indesign shuttle buses, running regularly all day, creating choose-your-own social design adventures for industry insiders and design lovers. Free registration to attend.

How do I get around?

The event locations are spread along design trails in four precincts: Alexandria, Chippendale, Redfern/Waterloo and Surry Hills. Our own free Indesign shuttle buses will be travelling between each location on the design trails all day.

Do I need to buy a ticket?

No, you just need to register online or at any participating venue on the day. Registration is quick and free, and if you register online now you’ll skip the queue on event day, receive a personalised visitor pass and, because we love early registrations, you’ll go in the running to win some fabulous prizes.

What does registration include?

Registration serves as your all-access-pass to Sydney Indesign. It gives you entry to all the showrooms and their on-day activities and entertainment. It also gives you free travel, serving as your all-day transit pass on our hop-on hop-off design trail buses. You can register online. It’s quick, free, and you’ll skip the queue on the day. Once you’ve registered you will receive your personalised visitor pass via email one to two weeks prior to the event. If you register early, you’ll even go in the running to win some fabulous prizes.

Can I register on the day?

Yes. You can register at any participating venue on the day, although we do encourage guests to register online pre-event – early registration means you’ll skip the queue on the day, we’ll be able to personalise your visitor pass and you’ll be in the running to win some very attractive, well-designed prizes.

Can I register my whole office?

You can register yourself with a group of up to ten colleagues. To do this simply complete the ‘Group Registration’ form on the Sydney Indesign registration page.

Can I bring other people?

Yes. Your guests will need to register at the first venue you attend. This is free, and will give them access to all the event programming, showroom entertainments and give them free all-day travel on the Indesign design trail buses. However, we encourage everyone to register online pre-event – you’ll skip the queue on the day, we’ll be able to personalise your visitor passes and each registration goes in the running to win fabulous prizes.
