Handmade – Back to Where we Started

Do we all want the same interior products? In a world where all design products, real and fake, are helping create a homogenise world; what does this mean for the future of creative design?

Is the ever-rising popularity of replica furniture creating a new renaissance of handmade, locally crafted pieces with designers and artisans?

Handmade and made-to-order furniture, lighting and objects are now sought out by the discerning buyer – who sees bespoke products as future heirlooms and points of pride in the house.

Curated by design journalist Anne-Maree Sargeant, the Handmade – Back to Where We Started panel will discuss these questions and more as it explores the new order in interior design.

Cult’s designer Adam Goodrum, Broaches Commissions’ founder Lou Weis, designer Christopher Boots and Blakebrough+King’s Sarah K and Ben Blakebrough will talk over the future of interior design in the face of replica popularity and the resurgence of the handmade craft.

With consumers increasingly seeking out bespoke products in retaliation to the homogenisation of the interior design landscape, you can be sure this will be an event not to be missed for those with a passion for bespoke beauty.
