Stylecraft celebrates launch of Hoshi Butter in Canberra

Stylecraft

SKEEHAN Studio’s temporary concept studio space at Dairy Road recently hosted an exclusive event to unveil the Hoshi Butter armchair, the latest addition to the Hoshi collection by local designer Tom Skeehan.

Gathering to unveil the Hoshi Butter, the Stylecraft event brought together Canberra’s design community to experience first-hand the evolution of this beloved furniture series.

Held in Skeehan Studio’s temporary concept studio space at Dairy Road – a warehouse space hosting business working across art and design, food production, hospitality, along with workspaces and co-working – the event highlighted Stylecraft’s commitment to Australian design and manufacturing. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with the design process and appreciate the craftsmanship behind the new piece.

The Hoshi Butter armchair represents a softer, more tactile evolution of the original Hoshi design. While maintaining the minimalist timber frame inspired by Japanese aesthetics, the Butter variant introduces plush, ‘buttery’ cushions that enhance comfort without compromising the chair’s clean lines.

This new iteration is a result of a collaboration between SKEEHAN Studio and textile experts Kvadrat Maharam, ensuring that the materials used are both luxurious and durable. The armchair is available in various finishes, including solid American Ash, Walnut, or Oak, and offers options suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings.

The launch of Hoshi Butter also marks the ten-year anniversary of the Hoshi collection, celebrating a decade of design excellence and innovation. The collection has evolved over the years to include various pieces like ottomans, side tables and lounges, catering to a wide range of interior and exterior spaces.
