Launched in 2013, Talostone® recognised the need for an affordable, accessible alternative to marble, without compromising on the beautiful look and feel of natural stone. Specialising in residential and commercial interiors, Talostone® is now a renowned Australian provider of not only mineral surfaces, but also sintered stone and natural stone. Continuing to explore new and innovative raw materials and processes to improve and expand their collections, Talostone® has become a go-to for projects where quality, durability and aesthetic play a key role. The Talostone® team, including qualified designers and stone masons, hold decades of experience and a thorough understanding of the design and fabrication process. This wealth of in-house knowledge is illustrated through Talostone®’s City Experience Centre. Located on Dank St, Waterloo Sydney, the Centre is far from the average showroom. Appealing to designers, specifiers and architects, the Centre pulls back the curtain to reveal a working design environment. Walking amongst the variety of stone displays, feeling their textures, the scale of the large slabs and hands-on experience convey the rich detailing and characteristics of each product.
Talostone®’s innovative surfaces comprise three collections: The MinQ® Zero collection, mineral surfaces crafted with technology that eliminates crystalline silica, traverses the veined patterning and diverse palettes that appear in natural marble and is suited to curved stone application, enhancing design potential. The Natroccia® collection houses some of the most beautiful and timeless natural stones, sourced from only the finest quarries around the world. The Artsense® collection offers versatile, durable sintered stones to complement contemporary designs and its non-porous nature makes for a low-maintenance solution. Offered in a light-weight 12mm thickness, this collection is ideal for wall and face cladding.
The collections combine effortlessly together as seen in Fairlight, a refined residential home brimming with tactile materiality. Designed by Woods and Warner, the home features Talostone’s®’s Taj Mahal Quartzite natural stone from the Natroccia® collection. A hero finish within the kitchen, it cloaks the rounded island bench, countertops and is applied as a ceiling-height feature wall supporting the range hood, before extending into the living space’s elegantly crafted shelving. A throne for the fireplace, the MinQ® Zero Calacatta Viola™ surface adds textural depth and accents of burgundy. In the bedroom, Calacatta Viola™ features as bespoke side tables and a dressing table with its high-contrast, plum veining elevated against the room’s neutral palette.
Embraced by designers for its refined finish, Artsense® Classic Travertine™ sintered stone was recently featured in Baulkham Hills, a residential project by Sage Interiors. Precision and sophistication were key to the interior design. The subtle, natural grains and sandy hue of Artsense® Classic Travertine™ married with this vision. Used consistently across the island bench, countertops, splash backs and exterior, the stone becomes a unifying motif that materially links the kitchen, study nook and bathrooms while connecting the exterior spaces. Innovation is at the heart of everything Talostone® does. With this in mind, and as a sponsor of Saturday Indesign 2026, Talostone® will partner with The Whitehouse Institute of Design to present The Project at their Waterloo City Experience Centre. This year’s theme, ‘Alchemy’, will see the Institute’s students create a series of immersive installations that transform and reimagine Talostone®’s surfaces into something unexpected and extraordinary. Visitors will be able to view the installations and vote on The Project’s entries from participating showrooms.
