The 'Bespoke' Issue

With Guest Editor Yasmine Ghoniem, we are launched headfirst into the world of unique and eclectic design. From architecture to interiors, there is nothing that can’t be enlivened with bespoke interventions. Granted, a stunningly beautiful home can be made by simply shopping for the best, but when the artist’s hand is introduced, some pure magic is possible. Whether it is an artwork or a new upholstery, a built-in component or a mosaic inlay, these gestures, whether bold or subtle, are what make the home unique.

JamFactory at Design: Made: Trade

The Adelaide-based creative studio expands its catalogue with a range of seven hand-made products that convey it’s driving philosophy of ‘design + craftsmanship’ at this year’s Design: Trade: Made.

Joining the now popular KINK bottle – launched successfully last year – are the KINK vinegar bottle, STRETCH jug, JAM-JAR storage jar, PADDLE bread board, SOPHIA nesting bowls and JamFactory salad servers.

JamFactory focuses on the design of useful, innovative and attractive products, highlighting the craft methods behind their production and the specific characteristics of the materials used. JamFactory products are designed in-house by creative staff or through collaboration with independent designers, with each piece manufactured in one or more of the four studios (Glass, Metal, Ceramics and Furniture) by JamFactory staff and/or associates – the hard-working group of emerging artists and designers undertaking JamFactory’s intensive two-year training program.

JamFactory products are available from the JamFactory online shop and selected national (Australian) stockists including Top3 By Design, WorkShopped, Shelf Life, Pomme, MAKE Designed Objects, National Gallery of Australia Shop, Canberra Glassworks and Artisan MART.

JamFactory’s new range of products will be available from July 19 at Design: Made: Trade.
