Kitchen & Bathroom Issue

Kitchens and bathrooms are, arguably, the most consequential rooms in the home — and almost always the first to be considered. Whether approached through renovation or new build, their design has the power to recalibrate how a home is lived in and experienced. For this issue, our guest editor, Mardi Doherty, principal of Studio Doherty, explores what it truly means to transform these pivotal spaces — and why thoughtful design in kitchens and bathrooms delivers dividends far beyond the purely functional. Her insights both as an architect and as her own client give an open and honest account of the thinking behind creating a home.

Launching Habitus #36

The hotly anticipated kitchen and bathroom issue has arrived. Hosted by Sub Zero Wolf in their Melbourne showroom, last night we celebrated the launch. Get your copy from Monday 12 June.

Last night in Melbourne’s historic Bank Place, home to the Sub Zero Wolf showroom, the team at Habitus celebrated the launch of issue #36, the Nourish issue, out next week.

This issue we decided to look at the kitchen and bathroom spaces in relation to the landscape of the entire home. We wanted to explore how these high traffic, highly functional spaces reflect the lifestyle of their inhabitants. Often thought of as the showcase piece of the home we wanted to share the thought behind the process.

A huge thank you to Sub Zero Wolf for hosting us last night, and to our advertisers who made this special issue possible.

I hope we’ve brought you some inspiring spaces encouraging a fresh perspective.
