Nalu: Outdoor furniture with a modern wave

Much in the same way that a new pop song can be both fresh yet familiar, so too is the Nalu outdoor furniture range by Talenti. Instantly recognisable forms hint at classic Italian furniture sensibility, executed to feel new – Nalu is more than furniture, it’s a lifestyle.

Sitting at the juncture of craftsmanship and innovation, the Nalu collection emerges as a striking reinterpretation of classic forms. Designed by the acclaimed duo Palomba Serafini Associati, this collection flows effortlessly between structure and upholstery, much like the movement of waves shaping a shoreline. With a concept rooted in fluidity, Nalu transforms rigid geometries into a sculptural yet inviting seating experience.

At the heart of the collection is a unique design language: a single, continuous cushion that wraps around the structure, creating both seat and backrest in a single motion. This seamless approach blurs the boundaries between upholstery and frame, lending a natural softness to the design. The result is an organic form that feels as effortless as it looks, reinforcing a sense of relaxed luxury for outdoor living.

Beyond its sculptural presence, Nalu is comprised of a comprehensive product family. This encompasses lounge seating, dining settings and accessories with each piece unified by the same fluid aesthetic. The asymmetrical structures of the dining and coffee tables add another layer of visual intrigue, breaking away from conventional forms to introduce a more dynamic, contemporary silhouette.

Central to the collection is a bold yet timeless colour palette, carefully curated to enhance both structure and upholstery. The vibrancy of the striped fabrics interacts harmoniously with the refined finishes of the tables. Here is where the true craftsmanship and innovation comes to life. The table’s feature a gorgeous mosaic of glazed stoneware with a lava stone effect, a testament to Talenti’s masterful skill. The material’s rich texture not only adds depth but also reinforces the collection’s durability and suitability for outdoor spaces. The depth and variety particularly come to life in the red and cobalt colourways – where the patterning and variety appears like sumptuous patchwork of texture.

Further consideration has gone into the material selection, with the frames constructed in aluminium, a material known for its ability to be recycled and for exceptional durability. The collection is also designed for easy disassembly, all of which contribute to its sustainability narrative.

With Nalu, Palomba Serafini Associati breathes new life into outdoor furniture, blending modernist inspiration with a fresh, fluid aesthetic. The collection is a celebration of contrasts – soft yet structured, vibrant yet refined, sculptural yet comfortable. It invites a new way of experiencing the outdoors: relaxed, elegant, and seamlessly connected to its surroundings. It is a collection that of inspired classicism, but more than that it’s an entire lifestyle.
