Kitchen & Bathroom Issue

Habitus 63 is arguably the most aspirational issue of the year with Kitchens & Bathrooms to dream about. Whether a family hub, an entertainer’s paradise or somewhere to grad a quick meal, how we live in and spend time in the kitchen is a very personal question that requires thought and an abundance of resources. Always the aspirational eye candy of design, we have some truly lovely kitchens from Greg Natale, YSG, Splinter Society, Sally Caroline and Studio Johnston. Bathrooms are just as important with Greg Natale, Studio Tate, YSG and Those Architects sharing some fabulous insights

HAY and Cult launch the Palissade at MID

Together with HAY, Cult has launched the Palissade collection of outdoor furniture – which debuted exclusively at Melbourne Indesign 2016.

Palissade, designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, for HAY was launched over the MID16 weekend by Cult in a leafy installation at Glasshaus. In Sydney, Cult is presenting the Palissade Tearoom to showcase the range; a pop-up concept cafe designed and presented in partnership with We Are Triibe and The Rabbit Hole.

The Palissade collection comprises 13 pieces of furniture, designed to cater to a broad spectrum of outdoor environments, from domestic settings like terraces, gardens and balconies, to more commercial outdoor spaces such as cafés, restaurants and bars. Inspired by Parisian café-style furniture, the varied range showcased at Melbourne Indesign was united by a common visual motif of simple lines, repeated elements and gentle curves.

The Palissade Installation at MID16 saw a leafy space perfectly mirroring the new HAY and Cult collaboration. Set in the MID space in Cremorne the Palissade Installation explores the intersections between botany, design and outdoor living.

Want to get your own taste of the Palissade collection in Sydney? To launch Palissade in Sydney, Cult is presenting the Palissade Tearoom – a pop-up concept café set inside an historic terrace on Kensington Street in Chippendale. For two weeks from August 25, the cafe will serve afternoon tea between 2-4pm amongst the new range! The menu has been designed in collaboration with The Rabbit Hole, offering visitors a tasty selection of tea and treats such as lavender shortbread, matcha marshmallow, a warming tea of ginger, cinnamon and organic honey-bush and a zesty iced coconut, hibiscus and cherry brew.

We’re excited to see this pop up in Sydney, and are particularly proud of seeing the launch take place during Melbourne Indesign 2016!
