Mixing sustainability & wellbeing with style

These striking mixers from Phoenix tick all the right boxes in terms of not just design potential and aesthetic appeal, but also sustainability and consumer wellbeing.

Part of a broader range, which also includes showers and accessories, the mixers in Phoenix’s Enviro316 collection are both GreenTag certified and Lead Free.

This means that specifiers attracted by the aesthetic appeal of these products – their sleek modern form, faultless stainless appearance, and so forth – can purchase them, secure in the knowledge that they also achieve best practice in terms of sustainability and the maintenance of public health.

Environmental certification

The mixers in the Enviro316 collection have been awarded GreenTag GreenRate Level A certification. Arrived at through a rigorous process of independent testing, this confirms that they meet the highest standards in terms of resource efficiency and waste management. In other words, their production has been judged as having minimal environmental impact.

Here it is worth noting that the benefits of GreenTag GreenRate Level A certification extend beyond the suitability of the products themselves. It has implications for architects interested in broader environmental certification schemes (which address the credentials of not just individual products but entire buildings).

Specifically, GreenTag GreenRate Level A certification aligns with Green Star (the Green Building Council of Australia’s rating system), the Infrastructure Sustainability Council’s IS ratings, and the Earthcheck Rating Tool, which caters to the hospitality and tourism sectors.

Lead Free Composition

The Enviro316 collection of mixers are Lead Free, with core components made of stainless steel. The collection is a proactive step towards nurturing a healthy living environment while safeguarding against the perils of lead exposure.

In addition to the GreenTag GreenRate Level A certification, Enviro316 collection has achieved the GreenTag Platinum Health certification. This evaluates and verifies products based on their impact on human health and potential exposure to harmful substances.

This has implications for specifiers and designers wishing to satisfy the requirements of broader schemes, specifically WELL (an international scheme established to measure the effects of the built environment of human well-being) and LEED (an internationally known green building rating system).

Further attractions of the Enviro316 collection

Beyond all of this, it must be said that in bringing the collection to market, Phoenix had more in mind than only sustainability and public health. The locally designed collection also focused on functionality and aesthetic appeal.

“Enviro316 was designed from the perspective of the Modernist view of minimalism. The design is clean and sophisticated with soft surfaces defined by ultra-crisp lines. As the Modernist movement transcended trends, this was the perfect design style for a collection designed for longevity,” says Phoenix Design Lead, Ban Liu.

Made with marine grade 316 stainless steel (including on the breech), these products are durable and corrosion resistant.
