Granted, a stunningly beautiful home can be made by simply shopping for the best, but when the artist’s hand is introduced, some pure magic is possible. Whether it is an artwork or a new upholstery, a built-in component or a mosaic inlay, these gestures, whether bold or subtle, are what make the home unique.

As part of The Age We’re In, Powerhouse Museum brought together Camilla Block and Qianyi Lim to reflect on their experiences as architects. Watch the video below!


Qianyi Lim is co-founder at Sibling Architecture. In this production by Powerhouse, she speaks to Camilla Block, director at Durach Block Jaggers Architects. It’s part of the Powerhouse’s series, The Age We’re In, and the pair emphasise the intensity of the profession as well as the advantages and joys of collaboration. Both share a commitment to creating inclusive and captivating spaces that nurture a sense of belonging.

Timothy Alouani-Roby is a writer and the Editor of Indesignlive and Habitusliving. Having worked in elite professional sport for over a decade, he retrained in architecture at the University of Sydney, adding to previous degrees in philosophy, politics and English literature. Originally from Northern England, Timothy is also a student of Moroccan Arabic and divides his time between Gadigal-Sydney and Marrakech.
