The 'Bespoke' Issue

With Guest Editor Yasmine Ghoniem, we are launched headfirst into the world of unique and eclectic design. From architecture to interiors, there is nothing that can’t be enlivened with bespoke interventions. Granted, a stunningly beautiful home can be made by simply shopping for the best, but when the artist’s hand is introduced, some pure magic is possible. Whether it is an artwork or a new upholstery, a built-in component or a mosaic inlay, these gestures, whether bold or subtle, are what make the home unique.

Rosenthal Studio-line 50th Anniversary Vases

A collection of famous designers, architects and artists including Björn Wiinblad, Tapio Wirkkala and Marcello Morandini.

I am: A collection of limited edition vases

About:

To honour the jubilee of 50 years, Rosenthal Studio-Line presents a limited edition collection for 2011; 50 vases from renowned artists and designers were selected to reflect the diversity and innovation of Studio-line.

The collection begins in 1961 with a vase by Tapio Wirkkala and ends in 2011 with a fresh design by Christophe de la Fontaine. Many of the stunning vases are timeless classics still available in the Rosenthal Studio-Line current range while others draw inspiration from the Rosenthal archives for the 50th anniversary celebration.

The limited edition 2011 collection contains originals from many important designers, artists and architects such as Björn Wiinblad, Tapio Wirkkala and Marcello Morandini, many of the artists were discovered by Philip Rosenthal and began their exciting careers with Studio-Line.

The anniversary collection is limited to one size per design, with a wide variety in monochrome black or white porcelain. The exchange of matt and glazed surface accentuates the subtle charm of the collection.

Materials: Porcelain
