It is a question often asked – how can we plan for safety and accessibility without compromising the principles of design? Without adequate research and resources, bathroom design for the less able client can present a limited range of choices and a high chance of sterile, clinical outcomes. Unless we embrace the principle of Archability®…
Archability® is a fusion of architecture and the universally recognised need for accessibility for all persons. It is the shower seat of warmto- touch anatomically moulded plastic; it is the ‘SOFT’ grab rail in stylish muted neutral tones; it is about creating accessible private bathrooms – not public changing facilities. A division of assistive technology provider Active Mobility, Archability® has partnered with French manufacturer Pellet ASC – specialists in comfort and safety for the bathroom environment. This partnership brings to Australia one of the widest ranges of accessible bathroom products, influenced by French designer agencies EDDS and PhilMoineDesign.

Pellet products are designed and manufactured in compliance with the force requirements of the European Standard EN 12182, 1999 (technical helps for disabled persons). Manufacturing quality is guaranteed by TÜV certification and CE marking indicates production according to the European Rule 93/42/EEC for medical devices. The Pellet/Archability® alliance offers stylish shower seats, grab rails, angle adjustable mirrors, height adjustable basin supports and walk-in bathtubs.
To ergonomics, design and manufacturing quality, Pellet adds a commitment in the fight against infection with Cu+. The Cu+ range of accessories uses the natural antimicrobial qualities of the copper to this effect.
