Circles of design inspiration – V-ZUG x Habitus in Milan

The Australian design community came together in the midst of the mayhem that is Milan’s Salone del Mobile and swapped ideas, highlights and more.

Easily the design capital of the world, Milan once again played host to Salone del Mobile in April. V-ZUG, in collaboration with Habitus, hosted an event to celebrate design in all its guises. Set against the backdrop of the Museo Poldi Pezzoli, which has a stunning privately owned Renaissance art collection, the event brought together an exclusive gathering of Australian-based designers and suppliers, uniting on the other side of the world to celebrate the very essence of design.

The event kicked off with a thought-provoking panel discussion, hosted by Aleesha Callahan, Habitus editor. Joined by V-ZUG’s design team and DKO’s head of interior design Michael Drescher, the panel delved into the sights, sounds and design inspirations discovered throughout the week.

Australian-based designers and suppliers mingled, forging connections and exchanging insights on the global design landscape. It was a testament to the power of design to transcend geographical boundaries and bring like-minded individuals together in celebration of their craft.

Following the panel discussion, guests were treated to an exclusive tour of the art collection. Attendees enjoyed Italian beverages like Aperol spritzes and prosecco, but the pièce de resistance was a Milanese-style risotto.

The event served as the perfect finale, allowing attendees to reflect on the wealth of inspiration and creativity absorbed throughout the week.
