Living in the Environment Issue

Issue 62 is the first issue of the year and always a great time to put our best foot forward. With Adam Goodrum, the loveliest man in design, as Guest Editor, we draw on his insights as a furniture designer, artist and educator to look at the makers shaping our design world. Sustainability has never been more important, and increasingly this is a consideration from the start with projects designed to address their immediate environment as well as the longevity of the planet. From the coldest winters to the most tropical of summers, addressing how we live in the environment is crucial to creating the perfect home.

Sofa treats based on comfort, longevity and luxury

Kave Home

Kave Home’s new sofa collection is crafted for comfort and designed to last, while the new autumn-winter collection offers the latest in bold colour design.

With cooler months encouraging more time indoors as End of Financial Year approaches, the living room takes centre stage. Naturally, a focus on sofas follows. Kave Home’s latest sofa collection combines contemporary design with durable materials to suit a variety of living spaces and styles.

From modular designs fit for expansive areas to compact two-seaters ideal for urban apartments, these sofas are designed to balance form and function. Sculptural silhouettes offer a bold aesthetic, while high-backed options provide optimal support. Whether opting for rich statement hues or timeless neutrals, each piece is crafted with high-quality, stain-resistant fabrics and sustainable materials, ensuring both durability and effortless maintenance.

Blok Sofa

A fusion of bold structure and inviting comfort, the Blok Sofa features minimalist lines, generous proportions and a floating effect created by its concealed legs. Versatile and stylish, it is available as a two-seater, three-seater or with a chaise for ultimate relaxation. The Blok Sofa comes in soft corduroy or stain-resistant fabric, making it a practical yet sophisticated addition to any home. Customers can choose from contemporary shades like deep green and light pink or opt for a classic beige for a timeless appeal.

Gala Sofa

Soft, spacious and effortlessly elegant, the Gala Sofa is designed for both comfort and style. Its generous dimensions and curved silhouette make a striking statement, while its ultra-soft chenille upholstery, available in Secreto Beige and Pure White, features a stain-resistant and antibacterial treatment for easy upkeep. Designed in Europe using artisanal techniques, the Gala Sofa incorporates plush feather-down effect filling and reversible cushions, blending luxury with everyday practicality.

Karin Sofa

The Karin Sofa is a seamless combination of modern design and everyday functionality, featuring gently rounded armrests and deep, inviting cushions. Upholstered in bicolour recycled polyester, it is both soft to the touch and highly durable. Solid beech wood legs finished in a rich walnut tone add a natural element to its refined aesthetic. With removable seat and back covers, the Karin Sofa ensures easy maintenance, making it a practical yet stylish choice for any space.

Meanwhile, the autumn-winter collection showcases coloured accent pieces and statement interiors. First, the Adularia collection is a celebration of minimalism, featuring tempered glass furniture that seamlessly blends simplicity with elegance.

Second, the Elan collection – with its solid walnut structure, hand-braided paper cord detailing and brass hardware – is crafted from rich walnut wood and features intricate hand-woven cord details that bring a rustic yet sophisticated charm to any interior. Next is the Teryl Armchair, with its relaxing cushioned arms and soft, tight-knit chenille fabric. Finally, Maina dining chairs and barstools are inspired by mid-century design with soft, sculptural shapes and high-quality materials, offering both functionality and sophistication.
