Kitchen & Bathroom Issue

Kitchens and bathrooms are, arguably, the most consequential rooms in the home — and almost always the first to be considered. Whether approached through renovation or new build, their design has the power to recalibrate how a home is lived in and experienced. For this issue, our guest editor, Mardi Doherty, principal of Studio Doherty, explores what it truly means to transform these pivotal spaces — and why thoughtful design in kitchens and bathrooms delivers dividends far beyond the purely functional. Her insights both as an architect and as her own client give an open and honest account of the thinking behind creating a home.

Tongue & Groove launches Co.Lab with leading designers

Tongue & Groove

The Australian luxury flooring brand has announced the launch of Co.Lab, an initiative that includes working with designers such as Greg Natale, Catherine Martin, Yasmine Ghoniem, Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay.

The Co.Lab project will feature collaborations with renowned designers, beginning with award-winning Australian designer Greg Natale. The first collection is set to launch on March 13th, 2025.

Co.Lab aims to redefine flooring by integrating artistic expression with Tongue & Groove’s expertise in solid European Oak boards. Following Natale’s collection, upcoming collaborations will include designers such as Catherine Martin, Yasmine Ghoniem (YSG Studio), and Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay (Raw Edges for Established & Sons). Each collection will reflect the distinct creative vision of its designer while maintaining the brand’s commitment to quality and durability.

“The Co.Lab initiative emerged from our relentless pursuit of innovation and delivering excellence within the flooring industry,” says Richard Karsay, CEO of Tongue & Groove. “It’s about pushing the boundaries of what flooring can be and giving visionary talents a platform to bring their unique artistry to life. By aligning Co.Lab with globally acclaimed creative icons, we aim to not only set new standards of luxury but also to redefine the essence of what flooring can represent.”

The collections will incorporate intricate patterns and bespoke manufacturing techniques, transforming flooring into an artistic medium. Tongue & Groove is positioning Co.Lab as a pioneering effort in luxury flooring, setting new standards for design in the industry.
