Vintage Modern Issue

The breadth and scope of Habitus has always been extraordinary. With how we live at heart of every issue, we have stepped it up with Guest Editor David Flack of Flack Studio shaking the ‘how’ and looking at new ways to make a house a home. With Vintage Modern as the issues theme, we look at the way iconic design has stayed with us, how daring pieces from the past can add the wow factor and how architecture and good design defy the pigeon hole of their era.

Welcome to the world of the Flowerpot

In an exciting development, the beloved Flowerpot lighting collection by &Tradition is expanding with six new captivating colour finishes. Explore the new possibilities now with Cult Design.

An ever-enduring icon of 20th-century Danish design, Flowerpot was first introduced during a time of global cultural revolution in 1968. This era of experimentation and unbridled invention set the stage for visionary Danish designer Verner Panton to compose some of his most daring pieces – including, of course, the Flowerpot itself.

Flowerpot VP2 pendant &Tradition – Vermillion Red.

Flowerpot boasts an inventive structure and a playful silhouette that defies conventional norms. Its timeless appeal is enhanced by a vibrant array of hues which add a touch of modernity to any space; and now, there are six more on offer.

Playfully dancing between vintage-inspired design call-backs – such as a retro black and white wave pattern which speaks to the groovy designs of the seventies – to vibrant contemporary colours including a daring Cobalt blue, the new finishes seem to have it all. The delightful contrast between Tangy Pink and Dark Plum, or Swim Blue and Vermilion Red, keep the collection perfectly balanced in its whimsy.

The new colours offer endless possibilities for creative lighting design, striking a unique balance between contemporary and vintage design which will undoubtedly continue hold iconography for generations to come.
