Partners in business and life, Eva Dijkstra and Michael Lugmayr are the brains behind two unique Sydney-based design ventures. They began Design by Toko in 2001 in Rotterdam before they relocated to Sydney in 2007, and have since become firm fixtures in the design community. The opening night of WORKSHOPPED 14: Clean Slate, at Supa Centa Moore Park, was inspiring. Design was of the highest calibre and the crowd was energised. The work from every designer had obviously been developed thoughtfully from concept to final execution, and knowing these will be the people leading the future of Australian design was encouraging to say the least. The night not only proved good things are happening now, but was a great promise of what is to come.
