THE LOCAL LIST

Coffee shop

Trentham General – the coffee is consistently excellent, high-quality food farmed from the region, and the team are always up for a chat. Set in a relaxed and unpretentious interior which works well with such an unconventional layout (repurposed from the old Bank of Australia).

Restaurant

Split between Midnight Starling (Kyneton) and Kuzu Izakaya (Woodend). Midnight Starling always serves up rich, high-calibre dishes and the environment is straight out of a classic French bistrotheque. Kuzu is inconspicuously tucked away, the food is clean and uncomplicated and modern.
