Behind the scenes: The King textile collection

In this issue of the Habitus Edit, we speak with Sebastian Nash, the in-house Fabric Development Manager at King to discuss a colourful next generation of textile innovation.

Our homes fulfil many functions, and in recent years, we have seen living spaces work harder than ever before as workplace, classroom, and retreat. As a result, many of us have a new appreciation of the pieces we choose to furnish our living spaces with. Iconic Australian furniture brand King believes in designing furniture that makes life better – and understands that it’s the finishing touches that elevate a piece of furniture from good to great.

Textile selection is one of the most important considerations when designing sofas, beds, chairs, ottomans and accessories that people will fall in love with. In this Edit, we speak with the dedicated in-house Fabric Development Manager at King, Sebastian Nash, about collaborating with world-renowned fabric manufacturers to craft high-grade, premium fabrics and sumptuous leathers for the upcoming Winter range.

“I’m always looking at the King textile collection as a whole, and searching for gaps or ways it can be improved,” says Nash. “I want people to be able to create a journey as they move around their home, and for there to be a cohesive story that can be added to in the future.”

Product-led and editorially curated, the Habitus Edit offers a unique perspective on the exceptional designers and brands across the Indo-Pacific region and beyond. Discover a colourful new world of textile innovation with this latest edition of The Edit.
