The 'Future' Issue

Habitus #64 Welcome to the HABITUS ‘Future’ and ‘Habitus House of the Year’ Issue. We are thrilled to have interior designer of excellence, Brahman Perera, as Guest Editor and to celebrate his Sri Lankan heritage through an interview with Palinda Kannangara and his extraordinary Ek Onkar project – divine! Thinking about the future, we look at the technology shaping our approach to sustainability and the ways traditional materials are enjoying a new-found place in the spotlight. Profiles on Yvonne Todd, Amy Lawrance, and Kallie Blauhorn are rounded out with projects from Studio ZAWA, SJB, Spirit Level, STUDIOLIVE, Park + Associates and a Lake House made in just 40 days by the wonderful Wutopia Lab, plus the short list for the Habitus House of the Year!

Bosnian craft finds its Australian home with ducksnest

In this issue of the Edit, we explore ducksnest’s new Artisan Furniture Australia showroom in South Melbourne and learn about an encounter in Dubrovnik that led to this harmonious partnership.

Stretching across an impressive 140 square metres, ducksnest’s new Artisan Furniture Australia showroom in South Melbourne has an undeniably alluring quality to it. Boasting expansive, large format glass windows, the atelier is filled with natural light, which plays off the warm shades of the engineered timber flooring. Up above, the curvature of the waved ceiling further accentuates the beautiful simplicity of the space, while echoing the exquisite Artisan range, defined by gentle bends and continuity of line.

In this issue of the Edit, we look around the interior that combines the Artisan Furniture Australia showroom with ducksnest studio, learn about an encounter in Croatia’s coastal hub, Dubrovnik, that led to this harmonious partnership – and explore some of the most prominent Artisan pieces that can be found in this newly opened space.

Product-led and editorially curated, the Habitus Edit offers a unique perspective on the exceptional designers and brands across the Indo-Pacific region. Dive in and explore the Habitus Edit on ducksnest’s new Artisan Furniture Australia showroom.
