Kitchen & Bathroom Issue

Kitchens and bathrooms are, arguably, the most consequential rooms in the home — and almost always the first to be considered. Whether approached through renovation or new build, their design has the power to recalibrate how a home is lived in and experienced. For this issue, our guest editor, Mardi Doherty, principal of Studio Doherty, explores what it truly means to transform these pivotal spaces — and why thoughtful design in kitchens and bathrooms delivers dividends far beyond the purely functional. Her insights both as an architect and as her own client give an open and honest account of the thinking behind creating a home.

habbot Celebrates Artist Collaboration

In a habbot first, habbot designer Annie Abbott has collaborated with Western Australian-based artist Emma Lipscombe to design a capsule fashion shoe collection launching habbot’s inaugural artist collaboration series.

The collection, titled Keys and locks and other architectural items, fuses Emma Lipscombe’s original painting, which was created exclusively for habbot. It was output onto a collection of five fashion habbot styles including four footwear styles; a loafer, pointed flat loafer, ankle boot and a handbag/clutch.

The collection, designed in Melbourne and hand crafted in Italy, utilises the softest Italian skin that has been locally printed to feature Emma’s geometric artwork along with bold complementary solid leather panels for that signature habbot look.

A gathering of Melbourne’s influencers in fashion, design and art converged at the habbot showroom to launch the inaugural artist series celebrating fashion and art.
