Kitchen & Bathroom Issue

Kitchens and bathrooms are, arguably, the most consequential rooms in the home — and almost always the first to be considered. Whether approached through renovation or new build, their design has the power to recalibrate how a home is lived in and experienced. For this issue, our guest editor, Mardi Doherty, principal of Studio Doherty, explores what it truly means to transform these pivotal spaces — and why thoughtful design in kitchens and bathrooms delivers dividends far beyond the purely functional. Her insights both as an architect and as her own client give an open and honest account of the thinking behind creating a home.

Mindd Centre for Integrative Healthcare launches in Sydney.

Minddful Giving

It is with great excitement that Mindd Foundation announces the opening of the new Mindd Centre for Integrative Healthcare at 2 New McLean Street,  Edgecliff mid-2012. The recent O’Neil Fundraiser hosted by MINDD patrons, Victoria & Patrick O’Neil at their Eastern Suburbs residence for the Centre was an outstanding success.

The Centre will provide Integrative treatments including nutritional medicine, musculo-skeletal care, speech therapy, psychology and a range of neuro and behavioural therapies.

The facility will encourage community knowledge through education programs and provide a retail outlet that promotes a healthy lifestyle.

Mindd Foundation’s mission is to fast track effective treatments to children during critical periods of their development in response to conditions that have risen dramatically in the past generation including; allergies, asthma, ADHD and Autism as well as digestive, sleep, mood, learning and sensory processing disorders.

The rise in childhood disease signals a need for preventative healthcare that focuses on cellular health by optimising nutrient intake while minimising toxins.

The Mindd Foundation Advisory Board includes Dr Martha Herbert, Paediatric Neurologist, Harvard University and Professor Michael Fennech, CSIRO.
