Living in the Environment Issue

Issue 62 is the first issue of the year and always a great time to put our best foot forward. With Adam Goodrum, the loveliest man in design, as Guest Editor, we draw on his insights as a furniture designer, artist and educator to look at the makers shaping our design world. Sustainability has never been more important, and increasingly this is a consideration from the start with projects designed to address their immediate environment as well as the longevity of the planet. From the coldest winters to the most tropical of summers, addressing how we live in the environment is crucial to creating the perfect home.

EvenElements

By Elton Group

A range of woven wood surfaces for use in joinery, wall and ceiling applications in residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality interiors. EvenElements™ architectural surfaces open up a previously unavailable range of textural options for interior joinery. You can see and touch the 3D woven patterns. Ideal for forming and shaping and for work done on challenging surfaces, the leaves can be processed with ease – just like normal spliced veneers and can be pressed without difficulty onto panels using any conventional veneer press. Advantages Even Element woven wood surfaces imbue a bespoke, handmade quality on the highest quality joinery projects. Flexible and durable, they can be easily worked with normal carpentry tools as well as CNC technology (drilling, sawing, milling, grooving) and are readily applicable to furniture and panelling.
