  • If you ever visit Japan, you will probably encounter the fantastic craftsmanship that can be seen in the traditional art of Kumiko screens. The wooden screens are often used as privacy screens and or room dividers and can be very simple or consist of incredibly intricate geometric patterns. The Kumiko cabinets combine semi see though screens and a very well crafted cabinet to create an interesting composition. Placing lights inside will give a warm feeling to the room, making the whole cabinet into a lamp of sorts. Manufactured in the furniture producing town of Morodomi, ARIAKE is a new, exciting Japanese brand that has brought together designers from different countries with a common respect for Japanese culture and woodworking. The expansive collection is available in a variety of options, and includes unique finishes such as sumi and indigo dye.
