The Life Outside Issue

Introducing the Life Outside issue of Habitus magazine. With life increasingly being absorbed into a digital space, there is never a more important moment to hold something tangible. In this context, the power of nature to have a physiological impact on our sense of wellbeing has never been more important. So how can we cultivate the benefits of the our natural environment in the most intimate of places – our homes? This was the question that helped to bring this issue of Habitus to life.

By Designer Rugs

Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson of Easton Pearson established a global reputation for their colourful and intricate designs. Pamela and Lydia established their design partnership in their home city of Brisbane in 1989 and first showed in Paris in 1998. Easton Pearson have collaborated with Designer Rugs on three collections to create inspiring and decorative rugs. The range includes 22 vibrant designs, each one capturing the enduring spirit of this iconic Australian fashion brand. Pamela and Lydia have drawn on a variety of influences, referencing their travels and the rich histories and culture of India, Africa and Europe, however it is their focus on fabrics and textile techniques that inspired the design process. These fresh, lively designs have the potential to be used in many different spaces, with layered up decor, to very minimal with the rug being the only single decorative accent.
