Kitchen & Bathroom Issue

Kitchens and bathrooms are, arguably, the most consequential rooms in the home — and almost always the first to be considered. Whether approached through renovation or new build, their design has the power to recalibrate how a home is lived in and experienced. For this issue, our guest editor, Mardi Doherty, principal of Studio Doherty, explores what it truly means to transform these pivotal spaces — and why thoughtful design in kitchens and bathrooms delivers dividends far beyond the purely functional. Her insights both as an architect and as her own client give an open and honest account of the thinking behind creating a home.

A table top with the look of velvet?

Simplicity, refinement and timeless style define the Howard table, designed by Jean-Marie Massaud for Poliform.

A self standing structure in wood and steel with a smoked velvet-like grey plate top, the table will bring a sense of warmth to any interior setting.

The structure is solid wood, spessart oak, with a laser-cut and folded metal frame and the finishing in painted bronze. The squared version has a top in tempered glass, with a thickness of 12mm in the finishing – etched and fume with wooden frame, transparent bevelled without frame. In the rectangular version the top is available also in wood in the finishing spessart oak and in marble, 3 mat and 4 glossy finishings.
