Bentley Continental GT

Luxury car lovers gathered in Sydney last week to celebrate the Australian launch of the newly designed Bentley Continental GT.

The beautiful new Bentley Continental GT continues the design vernacular begun with the R-Type Continental of the 1950s and the more recent Continental GT.

The distinctive “haunch line” of the of the R-Type is echoed in this modern interpretation, now with a sportier feel. “These sharp, contemporary lines are only achievable as a result of new design and manufacturing technologies,” the car company explains.

“The classic, imposing matrix radiator grille, has been given an even stronger feel.”

“The headlights have been designed to incorporate a beautiful
jewellery effect. And at the rear, distinctive wraparound lights –
seamlessly integrated into the haunches of the car – are distinguished
by their signature ‘floating’ LED lamps.”

This facelift of the last Continental GT coupé represents a great deal of work, research and craftsmanship by the company’s design team – fusing the latest technologies with Bentley’s ‘unbroken line’.

“New touchscreen technology, chrome-bezelled dials, and the
innovative, removable storage case crafted from matching veneer are
housed within this dynamic cockpit area, which rises from the centre
console in the form of dramatically surfaced ‘wings’.”

“The boot lid introduces the powerful ‘double horse-shoe’ motif first
seen on the all-new flagship Bentley Mulsanne, while flared elliptical
exhaust tailpipes drive home the Continental GT’s sporting credentials.”

“Our interior designers have skilfully evolved the car’s cabin to produce a stylish yet cocooning space. Incredible attention to detail has gone into making the cabin as quiet and refined as possible.”

Finer touches such as the dashboard – which echoes the flying wings of the Bentley logo – soft-touch leathers and chrome-bezelled dials provide the sense of modern luxury for which Bentley is renowned.

“The distinctive ‘cobra’ design seats introduce the latest
body-supporting materials, for superior comfort. With front-seat
ventilation as well as a state-of-the-art massage system. Their improved
ergonomics also means more legroom for back-seat passengers and their
slim-line design provides easy access to the rear cabin.”

The best way to experience the new Bentley is, of course, a test drive, but why not head over to the website to see more, including some awesome videos.
