The 'Bespoke' Issue

With Guest Editor Yasmine Ghoniem, we are launched headfirst into the world of unique and eclectic design. From architecture to interiors, there is nothing that can’t be enlivened with bespoke interventions. Granted, a stunningly beautiful home can be made by simply shopping for the best, but when the artist’s hand is introduced, some pure magic is possible. Whether it is an artwork or a new upholstery, a built-in component or a mosaic inlay, these gestures, whether bold or subtle, are what make the home unique.

Cittero M range from Axor

Italian designer Antonio Cittero collaborates with Axor for this new
tapware range.

Axor is famous for designing exquisite bathroom fittings in collaboration with world-class designers; their ranges featuring work by by Patricia Urquiola, Philippe Starck and Jean-Marie Massaud.

The Cittero M range is no exception; Italian designer Antonio Cittero has created modernity inspired by Milan, producing a line of post-war Italian and modernist-infused products.

Antonio’s range has an emphasis on profile and celebrates the tap mechanism. The flush tap covers on the splashback of the 3-hole Basin Mixer and the exposed fittings of the Angle Valve Bidet Tap celebrate Antonio’s genius while blending with any décor.

The Cittero M range complements the frosted glass shades of the double wall lamp and the soft tapers of the ceramic bathtub in the Axor Cittero range.

Antonio’s latest designs were used in the recent refurbishment of the 18th Century Ketschauer Hof Hotel in Deidesheim, Germany. While Axor’s parent company Hansgrohe AG was recently heralded the leader in sanitation design by International Forum Design (iF).
