Kitchen & Bathroom Issue

Habitus 63 is arguably the most aspirational issue of the year with Kitchens & Bathrooms to dream about. Whether a family hub, an entertainer’s paradise or somewhere to grad a quick meal, how we live in and spend time in the kitchen is a very personal question that requires thought and an abundance of resources. Always the aspirational eye candy of design, we have some truly lovely kitchens from Greg Natale, YSG, Splinter Society, Sally Caroline and Studio Johnston. Bathrooms are just as important with Greg Natale, Studio Tate, YSG and Those Architects sharing some fabulous insights

Dado’s Acanthus bath at Jaci’s Lodge

Our friends at DADO take as to Jaci’s Tree Lodge to see the Acanthus bath

Designed by: Jacques van der Merwe

I am: a bathtub

About me:

Imagine a spacious tree house constructed among a riverine forest with rosewood, thatch, stacking doors and an open plan, en-suite bathroom with an enormous stone bath where you can also expect to see wild dog, rhino, antelope and over 340 species of birds.

This is the picture to be found at Jaci’s Tree Lodge, situated in the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve in Africa where you can find such a place.

“At Jaci’s Tree Lodge, we have taken the utmost care to create an environment in which you can relax and put your feet up, amid all of the luxury you would expect of a five-star bush lodge”, says owner Jaci.  This world-class lodge is focused on guests who love class and style.

Even if you are not able to visit Jaci’s Tree Lodge, you could enjoy some of its splendor in your own bathroom.  Get the water running and get yourself a glass of wine, and take the time to relax and read a book in DADO’s stone baths.

The Bath:

The bathtub chosen for Jaci’s lodge is the Acanthus, manufactured from DADOquartz. Not only its quality, but the special allure of DADOquartz made it a natural choice for a luxurious experience.

The stylish matt finish on the DADOquartz only adds to its stunning appearance and its minimalist design.  The Acanthus bath is big enough for two. It has a wide rim for the comfort and even for a glass of wine whilst you relax and its exceptional heat retention will allow an extended warm soak.

DADOquartz is engineered stone with special scratch-, mildew- and mould-resistance, excellent heat retention, colour stability, zero water absorbency, UV-resistance as well as high thermal shock resistance.

This is achieved through tight quality assurance throughout the entire manufacturing process including materials selection, casting and finishing.  DADOquartz products carry a 25-year warranty.

Dimensions:
