The 'Future' Issue

Habitus #64 Welcome to the HABITUS ‘Future’ and ‘Habitus House of the Year’ Issue. We are thrilled to have interior designer of excellence, Brahman Perera, as Guest Editor and to celebrate his Sri Lankan heritage through an interview with Palinda Kannangara and his extraordinary Ek Onkar project – divine! Thinking about the future, we look at the technology shaping our approach to sustainability and the ways traditional materials are enjoying a new-found place in the spotlight. Profiles on Yvonne Todd, Amy Lawrance, and Kallie Blauhorn are rounded out with projects from Studio ZAWA, SJB, Spirit Level, STUDIOLIVE, Park + Associates and a Lake House made in just 40 days by the wonderful Wutopia Lab, plus the short list for the Habitus House of the Year!

Everingham & Watson launches online store

Gifts and Homewares from our Homeland

Late last year school friends Susie Everingham & Liz Watson set up temporary digs at 29 Logan Road, Woolloongabba, Brisbane, peddling their handmade crafts in the theme of Australiana. Before long, the Everingham & Watson Pop Up Shop had completely sold out of stock. Thrilled by the success and the steady stream of orders that followed, the obvious next move for the duo was open up shop online.

The original E&W repertoire hallmarked Australian map and pineapple shaped black boards, hand printed tea towels, stationery and jewelry. With the expansion of their catalogue, you’ll now find sourced enamelware (classic billy tea essentials), ceramics by commissioned Brisbane potter KA, Australian native botanical skincare by Leif and timber and felted toys for children in the shape of native animals and indigenous families.

Assorted creative and academic endeavors near and far (Susie’s background is in law, business and interior, and Liz’s in visual arts, graphic design and arts management) have lead the friends back home to reunite. Everingham & Watson’s love for Australiana, texture, colour and character is well appreciated, in their making and gathering of objects that are close to our hearts.
