Kitchen & Bathroom Issue

Kitchens and bathrooms are, arguably, the most consequential rooms in the home — and almost always the first to be considered. Whether approached through renovation or new build, their design has the power to recalibrate how a home is lived in and experienced. For this issue, our guest editor, Mardi Doherty, principal of Studio Doherty, explores what it truly means to transform these pivotal spaces — and why thoughtful design in kitchens and bathrooms delivers dividends far beyond the purely functional. Her insights both as an architect and as her own client give an open and honest account of the thinking behind creating a home.

Falper Edge cabinet and integrated basin

By Rogerseller

Designed by Fattorini + Rizzini for Falper, Edge is a timeless double vanity that combines clean lines with highly sophisticated craftsmanship, resulting in a piece that is presented entirely in glass. The sleek lines of the cabinet combined with the soft, sculpted curves of the integrated basin give Edge an ultra-modern aesthetic. The 10mm glass top is treated with nanotechnology paint that creates a soft-touch feeling whilst also making the surface fingerprint and stain resistant. Superior carpentry results in a strong structure and matt grey interior fitted with Legrabox drawers with built-in stabilizers and soft-close systems. 4mm tempered glass panels line the front and sides. Double drawers allow for ample space while the soft lines of the moulded handle perfectly suits the soft frosted glass finish. Edge comes standard with no tapholes, but a single taphole option is available on special order. A variety of colour finishes are also available.
