The 'Future' Issue

Habitus #64 Welcome to the HABITUS ‘Future’ and ‘Habitus House of the Year’ Issue. We are thrilled to have interior designer of excellence, Brahman Perera, as Guest Editor and to celebrate his Sri Lankan heritage through an interview with Palinda Kannangara and his extraordinary Ek Onkar project – divine! Thinking about the future, we look at the technology shaping our approach to sustainability and the ways traditional materials are enjoying a new-found place in the spotlight. Profiles on Yvonne Todd, Amy Lawrance, and Kallie Blauhorn are rounded out with projects from Studio ZAWA, SJB, Spirit Level, STUDIOLIVE, Park + Associates and a Lake House made in just 40 days by the wonderful Wutopia Lab, plus the short list for the Habitus House of the Year!

Suita from Space Furniture

Presenting the Suita sofa range by Antonio Citterio for Vitra Home, now available at Space Furniture in Australia.

Designed by: Antonio Citterio

I am: A sofa (and so much more…)

About me:

We love this Sofa from Antonio Citterio for the Vitra Home collection.
Conceived as a “classic sofa range” Suita is the epitome of flexibility and
good design.

The sofa range includes a
2-seater, a 3-seater and a chaise longue (in several different versions), a
daybed, 2 upholstered platforms, an ottoman and a club armchair. These allow
for an almost unlimited number of configurations to suit the ever-evolving
Design Hunter™ aesthetic.

You can also choose from optional raised headboards for the sofas and
chaise and shelves for the back of the sofas.

The Suita range comes in 2 ‘lines’; Suita Classic and Suita Casual. The
Classic line with its firmer seat and backrest deliver a more formal option,
while the Casual line offers softer cushions perfect for your living room.

You can also choose from a set of pointed cushions featuring textiles
with motifs taken from traditional Grisonian patterns and designs by Alexander
Girard.

The Suita ranges are available in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne from
Space Furniture.

Materials:

  • Moulded polyurethane foam with
    belted metal frame
  • Feet made of aluminium
die-casting (or, optionally, of polished, black or white coated aluminium)
  • Seat
cushion firm: Polyurethane foam and polyester wool
  • Seat cushion soft: Chamber cushion filled with
polyurethane pellets and feathers with polyurethane foam core
  • Upholstery in a choice of either a textile or leather cover.
