Why we love it: Father-Daughter team Douglas and Rebecca Snelling specialise in lighting and the use of solid timbers, letting their fondness for materials lead the design process. Their workshop has expanded into a retail store stocking local and international brands, and they recently collaborated with countrywoman and fashion designer Kate Sylvester on a range of furniture and lighting. This hand turned table lamp is composed of eco-plywood and a linen shade, and the turning process reveals unique and individual patterns on the surface.

Gidon Bing is an artist based in Auckland, New Zealand. Usually recognized for his sculptural works, particularly in plywood, Gidon also makes stunning ceramics.

Why we love it: Shortly after graduating Webber created his own working studio from which he designs and produces his range of furniture under the brand ‘Tim Webber Design’. The studio has gained international exposure through a wide variety of online sources and magazines. Webber has also won the Design Folio Incubator award including a trip to Milan, silver at the 2012 Best Awards and has been a finalist in the HOME Awards.

Why we love it: Mr. Bigglesworthy are passionate about furniture and design, adhering to the values of Style, Design, Sustainability and History to bring extraordinary examples of mid-century design to New Zealand. First shown at Paris’ World’s Fair in 1936, this cutting edge organic lounger cast ripples through the design world. Alvar and his wife Aino pioneered this one piece reclining design.
