We are thrilled to have interior designer of excellence, Brahman Perera, as Guest Editor and to celebrate his Sri Lankan heritage through an interview with Palinda Kannangara and his extraordinary Ek Onkar project – divine! Thinking about the future, we look at the technology shaping our approach to sustainability and the ways traditional materials are enjoying a new-found place in the spotlight. 1. What does your company supply?

Australian & Internationally designed and made furniture ranges from highly regarded companies like Sixhands, Dinosaur Designs, Robert Plumb, Enoki and Muuto.

2. What’s the history of your company (how did it start)?

We noticed a gap in the market and saw the opportunity to support innovative designers through online retail. The Idh team has a strong interior design background so Idh was born from the constant need to supply clients with beautiful and unique products.

3. Where do you distribute?

Australia-wide and Internationally.

4. Describe your customers?

Idh is for people who find joy in beautiful things with a pure love of design but don’t have the time to shop around and seek them out. We are a one-stop shop!

5. What sets your company apart?

Our aim is to sell quality products that will travel through time with you and be passed on to future generations. The Idh team is passionate about supporting an area of the design community that has so much on offer.  With new products and designers always jumping on board, we are constantly re- creating and re-inventing the way we showcase design.

7. What are your client’s priorities at the moment?

Consumers are starting to embrace the idea that one beautifully designed piece can transform a whole area.  Idh brings those unique pieces and opportunity to the consumer.

8. What is good design to you?

Products that can be placed in any room and bring life and energy to the space. It’s about creating a balance between fantastic pieces and the little things that tell your own story by taking inspiration from your surroundings, your passions and your adventures.

9. What does the future hold?

We will be expanding our collection of Australian designers and exploring Scandinavian designed and made products further.
