We are thrilled to have interior designer of excellence, Brahman Perera, as Guest Editor and to celebrate his Sri Lankan heritage through an interview with Palinda Kannangara and his extraordinary Ek Onkar project – divine! Thinking about the future, we look at the technology shaping our approach to sustainability and the ways traditional materials are enjoying a new-found place in the spotlight. Lagoon is an in-house design created as part of our X-MATERIALITY installation for Melbourne Design Week 2018. Where sun-kissed land meets tropical waters, unique details have been transformed into sculpted textiles to create a calming interior scene. A curious mindset allowed us to explore a variety of construction techniques, producing amusing details that remind us of the sea. Lagoon is a Finalist in The Design Files Awards 2019 for the Textiles and Collaboration categories.
