Living in the Environment Issue

Issue 62 is the first issue of the year and always a great time to put our best foot forward. With Adam Goodrum, the loveliest man in design, as Guest Editor, we draw on his insights as a furniture designer, artist and educator to look at the makers shaping our design world. Sustainability has never been more important, and increasingly this is a consideration from the start with projects designed to address their immediate environment as well as the longevity of the planet. From the coldest winters to the most tropical of summers, addressing how we live in the environment is crucial to creating the perfect home.

Santa Maria Novella – Acqua di Colonia Acqua di Sicilia

By Dunlin

Santa Maria Novella is one of the oldest pharmacies in the world. Starting out with cultivating and growing herbs which they needed to prepare medications, balms and creams for the monastery’s infirmary. In 1612 when their products gained renown, it was decided that the pharmacy should open to the public.

Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’s Acqua di Sicilia fragrance is named after its ingredients’ origins. Fresh notes of Sicilian citrus fruits, like bergamot and bitter orange blossom oil, constitute the top notes, evoking the fragrances of this enchanting Mediterranean island.

Head Notes – Bergamot, Lemon, Tangerine, Neroli
Heart Notes – Petitgrain, Lavender, Clove, Rosemary
Base Notes – Benzoin
