Small Things Big Difference

Sydney designer Christel Hadiwibawa collaborates with graphic designer Daniel Hadiwibawa to launch stationery and homewares brand, Made From Good Deeds (MFGD).

Stepping aside from her usual practice in furniture and lighting, Sydney designer Christel Hadiwibawa, founder of ChristelH collaborates with Canberra based graphic designer Daniel Hadiwibawa to launch a stationery and homewares brand, Made From Good Deeds (MFGD).

MFGD products combine graphic design, bespoke letterpress printing, and timber craftsmanship to offer everyday products with a positive twist. The calendar set as an example introduces three random acts of ‘good deeds’ inviting the user to participate in each month, all for the simple objective of making someone’s day.

“We like the idea of inspiring people to spread good vibes in their community. And one way we thought we could achieve this is to blend these positive initiatives with the creation of simple and beautifully designed objects that people come into contact with on a regular basis… stationery and homeware accessories.” states D. Hadiwibawa

The brother sister duo have worked together on previous design projects in the past, ranging from online design blogs through to furniture projects. Simplicity has always been the underlying thread behind their profession, and this is no different with MFGD.

“It’s a treat being able to work with a family member that shares the same passion and interest for design. Even though we work in different mediums, we’ve been able to pull together our individual skills to generate a range of ideas… Made From Good Deeds is just the initiation of one such idea.” says C. Hadiwibawa.

When asked about what makes MFGD unique… “sure there’s plenty of stationery and homeware brands out in the market but a big part of what makes us different is that we’re including simple ‘acts of kindness’ that are also quite playful – like leaving $5 in a public library book for the next reader to find, or anonymously sending someone flowers just because – these acts are small and random, yet they can go a long way.” responds D. Hadiwibawa.

The Calendar set and Public Cards are the first products to accompany the official launch of Made From Good Deeds this month. More products will follow in the coming months.
