Kitchen & Bathroom Issue

Kitchens and bathrooms are, arguably, the most consequential rooms in the home — and almost always the first to be considered. Whether approached through renovation or new build, their design has the power to recalibrate how a home is lived in and experienced. For this issue, our guest editor, Mardi Doherty, principal of Studio Doherty, explores what it truly means to transform these pivotal spaces — and why thoughtful design in kitchens and bathrooms delivers dividends far beyond the purely functional. Her insights both as an architect and as her own client give an open and honest account of the thinking behind creating a home.

Ayrton

By Cattelan Italia

Sensual and enveloping, the Ayrton bed conceived by Andrea Lucatello gives a timeless harmonious design to a design bedroom. The  pleasantness of the Ayrton modern double bed is due to the padded headboard. Its upholsterey is made of exquisite materials decorated with a refined diamond quilting and manufactured with high quality techniques. The headboard sides are slightly protruding, thanks to this shape the bed seems to hug and guard the dreamers. Ayrton is a unique modern bed with a contrasted personality, balancing the soft and caring padding with the harsh design of the steel feet, embellished with bright finishes.
