Verosol roller blinds hit the mark at Noosa Heads

Verosol roller blinds hit the mark at Noosa Heads

Specified in a villa on the Sunshine Coast, Ambience Multi-Link Roller Blinds from Verosol are helping welcome visitors to one of Australia’s holiday hot spots.

Alison Kruger is the owner and manager of Accent on Living, an interior design agency and retailer of custom home furnishings and finishes, located at Woombye on the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

As an industry professional with 30 years of experience to draw upon, Alison has developed a keen eye for quality. She knows a good fabric, sofa, or rug when she sees it. Armed with this experience and knowledge, she chooses her suppliers carefully.

Verosol, a leading manufacturer and supplier of performance blinds and curtains is a good example of this astute eye. Having become aware of the quality of Verosol products – not just in terms of aesthetic appeal, but also performance, flexibility, sustainability and more – Alison has developed a close relationship with the company, and has used their blinds and curtains in several residential fit-outs.

Villa at Noosa Heads

Asked for an example, Alison points to her recent renovation of a villa in nearby Noosa Heads. The home, which is currently used as a holiday let, was built in 2008 and was ready for a refresh.

“The villa has a beautiful light-filled north facing double-height void area over the dining room,” she says. “This was bright, and glary, but was not being shown off well with the existing window furnishings.”

According to Alison, this was one of the keys to the whole project and an idea that was thoroughly embraced by the client.

“We wanted to really utilise the void that had been a troublesome area, and offer all of the privacy, light and aesthetic needs, and accentuate the use of space while making it more comfortable,” she says.

To achieve this, Alison chose some familiar products, Ambience Multi-Link Roller Blinds with the Seed 789 Fabric. Motorised with Somfy Sonesse motors, they also incorporate Smoove wall switch remotes.

Soft light & privacy

On top of that, the blinds were also fitted with an anodized round head box. According to Alison, the thinking behind this detail was that it means the blinds can be concealed and the mechanics streamlined (to disappear when not in use).

“This also works really well with the view over the void from the two bedroom levels. It conceals the blinds and looks tidy from both the ground and above,” she explains. “We selected a beautiful translucent textured fabric that allows the light to be softened, takes the glare off the space, and offers privacy both day and night to holidaymakers. It’s also easy to care for long term.”

Alison’s approach to the project, and attention to addressing the under-valued void means, “The client was over the moon with the results and the difference the right window treatments have made. They have even brought Accent on Living on board for another holiday rental, and their own home”.

With the assistance of Accent on Living and Verosol, the villa has been given a new lease of life and is ready to welcome its next batch of visitors.
